At the top of Piz la Ila in the ski resort of Alta Badia, surrounded by the Dolomites, sits Club Moritzino, a high-altitude mountain hut and restaurant that welcomes skiers during the winter season and hiking enthusiasts in summer.

The building is reminiscent of a typical mountain cabin, with wood-clad walls, a sloping roof and a huge window from which guests can admire the alpine landscape that surrounds the structure. A new lighting project for Club Moritzino has recently seen the installation of Flori 1.2 outdoor projectors with RGBW light.

The fixtures, which have 32°x61° elliptical optics and an anthracite finish, were installed so that they point up to the wooden beams of the overhanging roof. Elliptical optics were chosen so that the roof’s protruding beams could be permanently lit at the same time as controlling the upward light spill.

The colour of the light output can be changed using a touch control panel: a fixed shade can be selected, or a lighting scene can be set that covers the entire colour range.
